In this video, we're going to talk about how to get rid of kidney stones with lemons. 59% of kidney stones that are developed are calcium oxalate stones, 10% are calcium phosphate, and 17% are uric acid stones. When the oxalates combine with the calcium in the kidney, they can form sharp crystals that could irritate the kidney, joints, and other tissues.

What Causes Kidney Stones?
1. Decreased urine volume – not consuming enough fluids
2. Increased oxalates in the body – oxalates come from food, and the body also makes oxalates
3. The urine is too acidic
4. Increased blood calcium
5. Low citrates

You could take calcium citrates to minimize dietary oxalates, or you can consume goat or sheep cheese with the meal. The calcium will combine with the oxalates in the digestive system, go through the body, and not be absorbed as much into the blood and kidneys.

Functions of citrates:
1. Inhibits the formation of stones
2. Dissolves stones
3. Inhibits the stickiness of calcium oxalates to the kidney tissue itself—allowing the stone to go through the body without sticking

Lemon juice is a great potential remedy for kidney stones. Here's why:
• It has the highest concentration of citrates out of any food
• It helps to alkalize the body
• It has low calcium
• It has a low fructose

What to do:
• Have 1 cup of lemon juice in the morning
• Mix 1 cup of lemon juice into 10 cups of water and drink throughout the day
