This is one of the first stitches I learned in crochet- the double crochet stitch.

You will use this basic stitch in other stitches, and will find it in lots of patterns. People love this stitch because it works up fast!

As a beginner in crochet it's important to not only learn the basic stitches, but how to recognize the stitch, how to count the stitch, and the stitch abbreviation.

A double crochet is noted as a "DC" in a standard US crochet pattern.
