Filius Blue was one of several Ornamental Peppers that we grew last year. Even though it is considered to be ornamental, it is edible, and comes in at about the same heat level as a Cayenne Pepper...30,000 to 50,000 on the Scoville Scale.
It's a pretty pepper to grow, and it also works great as a container pepper. We grew ours in a 5 gallon container and it did great, even though it shared space with a couple of banana plant seedlings. It holds it's blueish purple color for most of the summer, but as the peppers mature, they do change to orange, and then red. For a person who grows in containers and has limited space, I think this might be a good one to try.
This video shows one Filius Blue Pepper plant growing from spring till almost fall.
