Malabar Spinach seeds are inside a berry. In this video, I'll show you how I get those seeds out of the berries and end up with clean Malabar Spinach seeds.
The whole key to saving clean Malabar Spinach seeds is to ferment some of the berries. Before fermenting though, I also squash the berries in my hands. That helps separate the seeds from the berry pulp. Once the berries have fermented for 3 or 4 days, I use a strainer to help separate what remains of the pulp from the berries. After you go through all of the steps in the video, you should end up with some pretty clean Malabar Spinach seeds. Be sure to remember that the berry juice will stain clothing or just about anything else, including skin.
