Oh No, My Garlic Sprouted! This question gets asked of me so much right around this time of year. I've covered it in many of the previous garlic videos, but its timely and on a lot of people's minds right now.

Hardneck garlic is planted in the fall and overwintered in the ground. The idea is that the cloves stay dormant, springing up to life next year. The truth is, the cloves are never truly dormant. Normally, they'll be developing a root system and we don't see it. But sometimes, in a warm, wet winter, the shoots will sprout up, catching us off guard!

So today, let's discuss why this happens and whether or not we should be concerned. Its a Quickie, so it won't take long!
