Rooting Rosemary From Cuttings Can Be Hard. Why not try using homemade rooting hormones! In this video, I do an experiment to see whether we can speed up the process and be more successful in rooting new Rosemary cuttings using 5 homemade rooting hormone agents. I also use regular water as a control, as well as commercial IBA powder as a standard to achieve. The results were not what I expected...
Rosemary can be tricky to root, and the water can go foul before the stems actually root. You have to remove the needles from the lower 3rd of the stem, otherwise the water will turn bad within days. Be patient, with the right stems and conditions, you will root your Rosemary successfully!
If you're considering using what the pros use for rooting all your woody perennials, consider this Amazon Affiliate link to Plant Prod's Stim Root for harder-to-root woody cuttings! The USA equivalent is Hormex.
