Email digital forensics is the process of extracting and analyzing data from email messages in order to uncover evidence of criminal or illicit activity. This process can be used to investigate incidents of fraud, harassment, or other misuse of email systems. In many cases, email digital forensics can provide investigators with valuable information that would otherwise be unavailable.
Email mailbox artefacts in digital forensics are the remnants of email messages that have been stored on a computer or other electronic device. They can be used to reconstruct past events, identify individuals or groups involved in criminal activity, and understand how communication systems are used. Email mailbox artefacts can be found in a variety of places, including email servers, webmail accounts, and personal computers.
