Knowing how to start your own business will largely depend on the type of entity you decide to form. They type of business you start will depend upon your skills. This is the first step:

1. Your Unique Skill - The Unique Edge that you are going to be better than everyone else at. If you don't know this, then at the very least; pick a niche you know for a fact you want to be in (this is your passion). Only pick a niche you actually can be the best in the world at.

If you don't have a skill, then start working on it. You aren't going to be successful long term if you’re not really good at something. Business makes money because they can do something others can’t. You will make money because you can do something others can’t. If you’re not there yet, then you’ve got affiliate products to offer your list.

2. Traffic Now - Are you going to build an audience the slow hard way or do you have a few thousand dollars to drive traffic. Pick your social platform and ad platform. Start your content marketing & list building immediately do this before you even have a website. Content pulls people to a landing page where you start collecting names & emails.

3. After 3 months, if your audience is growing, it's time to offer some affiliate products. If it's not, then you need to double down on your skill & learning how to drive & convert traffic. Until you know I can run an ad and get X opt-ins or I can post a video and get Y views, everything else is a waste of time. Growing your audience, your list, is the one skill every Internet entrepreneur needs so you need to get good at it, don't have to master it, just good at it to where you confidently know you can do it in your niche.

Only then should you start worrying about info products & membership sites. There are so many courses & software’s out there that will tell you need them to succeed. I'm here to tell you, all you need is a basic understanding of copy writing and the ability to produce content that gets you opt-ins, or run ad campaigns that gets you opt-ins.
