HOW TO OPEN A CORRUPTED EXCEL FILE // Open and Repair a Corrupted Workbook. See how to open and repair a corrupt Excel file so you can recover and re-save the file. This method may work for you to salvage all or some of the data in your workbook. If you use a Mac, you will want to attempt this using a Windows PC to open and repair your file. This video reviews the options available when you select to Open and Repair your document including Repair versus Extract Data. If Repair doesn’t work, you may be able to select Extract Data to salvage some of the values and formulas in the workbook.
