This lecture focuses on carbon emissions from fossil fuel-based hydrogen production and the technologies used for carbon capture and storage (CCS). It explains CO₂ removal from dilute and pure streams, cost comparisons of capture methods, and suitable long-term storage sites, including oil fields, aquifers, and ocean basins. Real-world CCS projects and future capacity needs are also discussed.
