This lecture introduces Contemporary Architecture as the architecture of the present era, broadly spanning from the 1950s to today. It explains how contemporary architecture differs from earlier modernist approaches by embracing diversity of forms, digital design tools, sustainability, and contextual sensitivity. Through global examples such as the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, Heydar Aliyev Center, and Bosco Verticale, the lecture demonstrates how contemporary architecture integrates technological innovation, environmental awareness, and cultural responsiveness while reflecting evolving social and architectural ideas.
