In this lecture, we have covered the concept of GeoSM-NatEc (Geo-Spatial Mapping of Natural Ecosystem) as a multi-scalar framework that integrates Earth Observation Data (EOD) and GIS for nature-based risk mitigation. We have also reviewed the fundamental types of ecosystem services—provisioning, regulating, cultural, and supporting—to underpin this geospatial assessment approach.
