In this lecture, we have covered the urgency of urban ecosystem assessment driven by rapid urbanization and critical environmental challenges such as air pollution, water depletion, and heat stress. We have also explored a diverse range of assessment frameworks, classifying them into biophysical and spatial tools, ecosystem services and metabolic tools, and socio-ecological vulnerability tools to support evidence-based urban governance.
