In this lecture, we have covered the discipline of Environmental Engineering (EnvE), focusing on its treatment-centric approach to removing pollutants from wastewater, solid waste, and air using biological, chemical, and physical processes. We have also analyzed the operational challenges of these systems, such as high energy consumption and costs, while discussing specific treatment technologies like activated sludge and electrostatic precipitators.
