In this lecture, we have covered the complementary strategies of mitigation and adaptation, tracing the historical progression of global Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) policies from the Yokohama Strategy to the Sendai Framework. We have also explored the concept of resilience—distinguishing between "bouncing back" and "bouncing forward"—and categorized risk management measures into structural (engineering) and non-structural (policy/behavioral) approaches.
