In this lecture, we have covered the fundamental concepts of disaster risk, defining it as the product of hazard, exposure, and vulnerability divided by coping capacity. We have also examined the evolution of disaster management from a reactive, event-focused approach to a proactive risk reduction framework, while analyzing how climate change acts as a "risk driver" by altering the frequency and intensity of hazards.
