In this lecture, we have covered the modification of local climates by urban development, leading to phenomena like the Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect. We have also explored the structure of the urban boundary layer, the classification of Local Climate Zones (LCZ), and the increasing risks associated with heatwaves and heat stress in built environments.
