In this lecture, we have covered the impact of urbanization on the hydrological cycle, specifically how impervious surfaces and artificial drainage create "flashy" hydrographs and reduce groundwater recharge. We have also addressed key urban water challenges, such as flooding and pollution, and introduced Integrated Urban Water Management (IUWM) as a holistic strategy to treat water as a reusable resource rather than a waste product.
