In this lecture, we have covered the progression of ecological thought from foundational theories, such as energy flow and succession, to advanced frameworks involving resilience and complex adaptive systems. We have also discussed integrative approaches that bridge ecology with human factors, such as socio- ecological systems and landscape ecology, to explain how ecosystems adapt to global change.
