The DMAIC Roadmap is a logical flow to problem solving in any business. It includes:
DEFINE – First of all, defining the project and its value for the organisation.
MEASURE – Next step, measuring the current status of the process of the project and determining the potential defects in the project.
ANALYSE – After the identification of potential wastes or defects, the next step is pointing out the root causes and evaluating the improvement that the project would gain after eliminating this waste.
IMPROVE – Adopting the best practices in eliminating the waste while focusing on controlling the risks.
Control – Ensure that the selected methods are implemented and the project has clear closure.
Design For Six Sigma (DFSS)
DFSS are methodologies that are often put to use to provide a framework for troubleshooting work in the project. Design For Six Sigma can be used within DMAIC or just as a standalone tool.
