Do you know why SAP itself is telling every customer to stop customizing their core ERP system, and where all that customization is supposed to go instead? If you're new to SAP or preparing to onboard into a BTP-based project, this is the perfect starting point. This session breaks down SAP BTP from scratch, assuming no prior BTP knowledge, covering why it exists, how it's structured, and exactly how a real account is set up behind the scenes. By the end, you'll understand the platform well enough to actually navigate a real BTP tenant with confidence.

In this video, you'll learn:

The four core pillars of SAP BTP: Application Development & Automation, Integration, Data & Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence
The difference between SAP Build, Build Code, Build Process Automation, and Build Work Zone within the application development pillar
How SAP Integration Suite connects SAP systems with third-party platforms like Salesforce, Concur, and Ariba
The three BTP runtime environments, Cloud Foundry, Kyma, and ABAP Environment, and when each one is used
The full account model hierarchy: global account, directories, and sub-accounts, and why regions and hyperscalers matter for latency and compliance
The three commercial models, Pay-As-You-Go, CPEA (cloud credits), and subscription, and how to choose the right one for your organization
Once you understand these four pillars and the account structure behind them, every BTP service you learn afterward will slot neatly into a picture you already understand. This sessions move into actually provisioning and working inside a real BTP account.
