An AI Agent shouldn't just answer you. It should be able to take a goal, use tools, observe the results, and continue working toward that goal.

In Video 16, we stop talking about AI Agents and actually build one.

Today, we create a working Security AI Agent in Python using Google Gemini, custom security tools and Tool Calling. We then run the agent live and watch it investigate a target IP.

WHAT WE BUILD
A Security AI Agent that can investigate a target using custom Python tools.
Our agent uses:
* Python
* Gemini 2.5 Flash
* google-genai SDK
* Custom security tools
* Tool Calling
* Agent Loop
* Environment Variables

CUSTOM SECURITY TOOLS
We give our AI Agent two tools:
ping_target

Checks whether a target can be reached.
check_ip_reputation
Checks the reputation of an IP address.

The agent can decide when these tools are needed during the investigation.

THE AGENT LOOP
We implement the core Agent Loop:
Goal → Think → Action → Observe → Repeat

The AI receives a security investigation goal, chooses an appropriate tool, receives the tool result, evaluates the result and continues until the task is complete.

LIVE IP INVESTIGATION
We give the agent the target:
8.8.8.8

Then we run the complete program and watch the Security AI Agent use its available tools to investigate the target and generate the final response.

PROJECT SETUP
Before building the agent, we also cover:
* Creating a Python virtual environment
* Activating the virtual environment
* Installing google-genai
* Installing requests
* Setting GEMINI_API_KEY as an environment variable
* Creating the agent.py project
* Using Claude Code to generate the initial agent implementation
* Understanding and running the generated code

WHAT YOU'LL UNDERSTAND
By the end of this practical, you'll understand how the concepts from Video 15 translate into a real Security AI Agent:

Goal → AI Decision → Tool Call → Tool Result → AI Decision → Final Result

This is the foundation for building more advanced AI-powered security automation, SOC agents, threat investigation systems and autonomous security workflows.
