Hands-on Labs and Assignments What was done well? The hands-on labs were the best part of the course. They were well-designed and provided a safe, practical environment to apply what we learned. The "Try-It-Yourself" assignments were especially effective for solidifying my understanding of key commands and concepts. The challenges were well-suited to the topics and encouraged me to think critically to solve problems. What could be improved? For some of the more advanced topics, the lab instructions could have been more elaborate. It would be helpful to have a "solutions" section or a more detailed walkthrough for the more challenging labs. Additionally, the course could introduce a capstone project where we integrate multiple concepts (e.g., shell scripting, user management, and cron jobs) into a single, comprehensive task to better simulate a real-world scenario. Instructor and Delivery What was done well? The instructor was very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. Their explanations were clear and easy to understand, and they did a great job of answering questions during the live sessions. The use of visuals and live demos during the lectures was also highly effective in illustrating key points and making the content engaging. What could be improved? The pacing of the lectures sometimes felt a little fast, particularly when the instructor was performing live demos. A slightly slower pace would allow for more time to absorb the commands and concepts. It would also be beneficial to have a quick summary at the end of each lesson to recap the main takeaways and reinforce the learning objectives. 2025-09-19

There was a time when Linux posed a great deal of complexity to beginners and simply discouraged them from embracing it. Over time, the vibrant Open source community has made enormous efforts in bringing Linux closer to the ordinary Windows and mac users by making it more user-friendly and easy to use
