This course provides a detailed overview of clinical hematology, focusing on the study, diagnosis, and management of blood disorders. Learners will explore the physiology of blood cells, hematopoiesis, and the functions of red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. The course covers common hematological conditions such as anemia, leukemias, lymphomas, bleeding and clotting disorders, and bone marrow failure syndromes. Emphasis is placed on the use of laboratory investigations, including complete blood count (CBC), peripheral smear, bone marrow examination, and advanced diagnostic tests, to support accurate diagnosis. Participants will also study treatment options such as iron therapy, chemotherapy, transfusions, and stem cell transplantation. Case studies and clinical examples will highlight real-world applications, enabling learners to connect theory with patient care.
