Organic urban farming,
in this course introduces learners to innovative methods of growing food in cities using sustainable and chemical-free practices. It focuses on maximizing small spaces like rooftops, balconies, backyards, and vertical gardens to produce fresh and healthy crops. Students will learn about soil preparation, composting, natural fertilizers, container planting, and efficient water use through drip irrigation and rainwater harvesting. The course emphasizes eco-friendly pest control, recycling organic waste, and integrating urban agriculture into community life. Real examples show how urban farms contribute to food security, reduce transportation costs, and build greener cities. By the end, participants will be able to design and manage small-scale organic systems, turning limited urban spaces into productive, sustainable farms that promote health, resilience, and environmental responsibility.
