Course Description
Intra aortic balloon pump course,
in this course we will learn about the operation, principles, and clinical applications of the IABP system used to support cardiac function. The course covers how the IABP assists the heart by inflating during diastole to improve coronary perfusion and deflating before systole to reduce cardiac workload. Participants will explore the indications for IABP use, such as cardiogenic shock and heart failure, and learn proper setup, insertion techniques, and monitoring protocols. Troubleshooting common issues, recognizing complications, and maintaining patient safety will be emphasized. By the end of the course, learners will be equipped to operate IABP devices effectively in critical care settings, ensuring optimal cardiovascular support for patients in need.
