Course Description

Power factor measurement course, in this course you will explore the essential concepts and practical techniques for measuring and analyzing power factor in electrical systems. This course begins with a fundamental understanding of what power factor is, its significance in electrical efficiency, and the difference between real, reactive, and apparent power. You’ll learn about the implications of poor power factor on energy costs and system performance. Through hands-on labs and demonstrations, you will gain experience using power factor meters and oscilloscopes to measure power factor in various circuits. We will cover different methods of measurement, including direct measurement with digital meters and indirect measurement using voltage and current sensors. Additionally, you will learn how to interpret the results, identify causes of low power factor, and apply corrective measures, such as using capacitors or inductors to improve the overall efficiency of electrical systems.
